Indicators of Basic Inflation and their Annual Variation

The purpose of the Used Housing Prices Index (UHPI) is to measure the variation in used home prices. Currently, the index covers the following cities Bogotá, Medellín, Cali, and Soacha in Cundinamarca, and Bello, Envigado e Itaguí in Antioquia. The index is calculated quartertly and annually. This index is designed, implemented and calculated by Banco de la República using information from loan's appraisals reported by Davivienda, BBVA, Av. Villas, Bancolombia, Colmena BCSC and Colpatria.
The term Low-Income Housing (LIH) refers to residences which are developed to guarantee the right to a house for low-income households. On each development plan, the national Government will establish maximun price and type of residences meant for these households. They will take into account, among other aspects, households' access to credit markets, finantial sector's amount of credit funding availability, and goverment's funds aimed to target housing programs.
