Together with a further fifteen objects, all of them notable for their shape, size and the way they were made, this large lime container, whose reddish colour comes from the tumbaga, was part of the sumptuous funerary regalia discovered in the 1980s in the Mid-Magdalena region. Like the famous "Quimbaya Treasure" that was discovered in Quindío in the late 19th century, these objects were buried alongside high-ranking dignitaries, so they could use them in the after-life.
