Fish are extremely
rare in Colombian pre-Hispanic metalwork. This solitary,
beautiful winged fish found in a San Agustín grave
would have had to fly immense cultural distances –as
well as physical, to reach the high lands where the Magdalena
and the Cauca rivers have their sources.
