At the end of June 1999, the Market
Exchange Rate stood at Col $1,732.10 per US dollar. Annual devaluation reached 27.1%, 1.9
percentage points higher than in June 1998. On the other hand, the Real Exchange Rate
Index stood at 105.37, indicating a real appreciation of 1.73% in the first semester of
1999.
