Exchange rate
On March of 2000, the market exchange
rate stood at an average of Col. $1,956.3 per US dollar registering a nominal devaluation
of 3.6% for the first quarter. On the other hand, the Real Exchange Rate Index stood at
110.5, indicating a slight revaluation of 0.4% during the first quarter, primarily due to
a greater domestic inflation (PPI 4.7%) compared with the nominal devaluation average
(3.6%).
