At the end of the fourth quarter of
2001, the money supply reached Col. $18.7 trillion with an annual variation of 12.1%. This
behavior is explained by the current accounts and cash holdings variation, 10.0% and 14.8%
respectively, which were higher than the ones presented the previous quarter of 2000.
